Privacy, briefly.
This is a personal portfolio, not a product. It collects nothing about you, and loads exactly one third-party service. Here is the whole picture.
What this site does not do
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no pixel, no heatmap.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing sold or shared with data brokers.
- No account, no login, no newsletter sign-up.
- Typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google Fonts — so no font request leaks your IP to a third party.
What is stored in your browser
One item, in session storage, under the key jm-viewpoint. It remembers which of the three lenses you chose so the site doesn't ask again on every page. It holds a single word, contains nothing personal, is never transmitted anywhere, and your browser discards it when you close the tab. Clearing site data removes it immediately.
The virtual assistant
The chat bubble is powered by Botpress, a third-party service. Opening it, or simply loading a page, causes your browser to contact cdn.botpress.cloud and files.bpcontent.cloud. As with any external request, those servers can see your IP address, browser and the page you came from. If you send the assistant a message, Botpress processes that message in order to answer it.
Practical advice: treat the assistant like a public message box. It is there to answer questions about my work, so please don't type anything confidential, and don't share anyone else's personal details in it.
Botpress is the data processor for that conversation and handles it under its own terms. If you would rather not involve it at all, don't open the chat — email me instead.
Links out
Case studies and the footer link to LinkedIn, GitHub, Medium, Instagram and various publications. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy governs what happens next; I have no visibility into it.

If you email me at contact@joaommonteiro.com, I keep the thread in my mailbox so I can reply and follow up. I don't add anyone to a mailing list.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to a supervisory authority — in Portugal, the CNPD.
This site holds nothing about you, so on the site itself there is nothing to show, correct or delete. The single exception is email: if you have written to me, that thread sits in my mailbox. Ask and I'll delete it.
Changes
If this site starts doing something that affects your privacy — analytics, a form, a different assistant — this page changes first.
